John Curwen-Walker

1970 took over Curwen-Walker & Co

John obtained his Law Degree at Melbourne University and resided at International House where he enjoyed meeting other students from around the world.

He commenced practice as a Solicitor in Ballarat over 40 years ago and has extensive experience in conveyancing (sale and purchase of vacant land, housing and commercial property), Probate, Wills and Powers of Attorney.

John is a long standing member of the Ballarat Lions Club and in the past has held executive positions in the Ballarat Yacht Club and the Ballarat Foundation. He is an avid fisherman, was a keen yachtsman and enjoys gardening, outdoor life and travelling.

Tom Sullivan

Tom has more than 13 years experience in the law. Before joining Curwen-Walker & Co, Tom practiced exclusively in Family Law in Ballarat and before that in the Northern Territory. Before being admitted as a solicitor Tom worked in the judicial chambers of the Family Court of Australia and as a Deputy Registrar in the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria.

Tom has worked on significant complex matters in both the Family Court of Australia and the Federal Circuit Court of Australia.

Tom provides practical legal advice in the following areas:

Jamie McCallum

Qualifications
J.D (University of Melbourne)
B.Sc (Biotechnology) (Hons) (Deakin University)

Prior to Jamie earning his Juris Doctor (postgraduate law) from the University of Melbourne, Jamie was a biological research scientist at Deakin University, in Geelong.

Before commencing at Curwen-Walker & Co, Jamie was in charge of the Conveyancing and Property Law department, and one of Ballarat’s largest and oldest law firms.

Jamie is experienced in residential, commercial and industrial conveyancing transactions, subdivisions, owners corporations, section 173 Agreements, and general property law advice. Jamie also has experience with family law and estate property transfers, general law conversions, and mortgage and guarantor advice.

Like the rest of the Curwen-Walker & Co conveyancing & property law team, Jamie understands that buying or selling real estate or developing land, can be one of the largest and most complex transactions that a client may go through during their lifetime. Accordingly, it is Jamie’s aim to assist clients to efficiently complete their property matter, whilst minimising stress and hassle that clients may face when developing land or buying and selling real estate.
